BRICS-China Stands With Pakistan

China is Pakistan’s all weather friend indeed. China defends Pakistan after Modi’s calls Pakistan as terrorist. Modi’s preemptive stunt at BRICS summit in Goa has left India red faced as China and Russia simply refused to buy his anti Pakistan theories.

The world saw diplomatic embarrassment for India at BRICS 2016 as China has said to international community should respect huge Pakistan effort and sacrifices in fighting terrorism.

Modi’s remarks to a meeting of leaders from BRICS – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – escalated his diplomatic drive to isolate Pakistan, which India accuses of sponsoring cross-border terrorism.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying, asked about Modi’s comments, and said that China opposed all forms of terrorism and that the international community should increase counter-terrorism cooperation.

“We also oppose the linking of terrorism to any specific country, ethnicity or religion. This is China’s consistent position,”

“Everyone knows that India and Pakistan are victims of terrorism. Pakistan has made huge efforts and great sacrifices in fighting terrorism. I think the international community should respect this” Hua, the Chinese spokes person, added.

China warns to ‘speed up construction of CPEC’ if Pakistan is cornered by India. China may speed up the construction of the $46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, which passes through Azad Kashmir if Pakistan was isolated and cornered by India.

If Pakistan feels isolated from South Asia, then China will speed up CPEC to instill confidence in Islamabad. After Iran, Afghanistan also desires a role in CPEC.

No doubt, India is being slapped by its allies at BRICS.
